Do you need a social media strategy? Hell yeah!

Should you have a social media strategy?

I am pretty sure every company in the world has asked themselves this at least once in the last few years. According to Digital Insights, ‘social media generates almost double the marketing leads of trade show, telemarketing, daily mail, or PPC’.

So do you need a social media strategy? Answer 3 questions:

  1. Are your audiences using social tools to find answers about your category, products or services?
  2. Would your customers benefit from asking and answering questions directly to each other?
  3. Do you think you can add value to their conversations in some way?

If you answered ‘yes’ to any of these questions, you would most likely benefit from some form of social media strategy. And i don’t mean a facebook page (although that could be a useful tool). I mean a strategic framework that starts with listening to what people are saying about your brand/category and then uses those insights to develop actionable strategies to engage with the community online over a period of time.
