Year: 2024
Goal: Refresh existing website design and improve SEO
After Kate at Nutrition Queensland had done a great job of setting up her own website, she needed a little hand to get it in top-notch condition. As part of Kate's website refresh, we:
- did a complete SEO overhaul to help her website be found on Google (adding new keywords, header text, meta tags, image alt text & submitting to Google Search Console)
- streamlined the site's appearance with consistent branding (colours, fonts, logos, images)
- made the design user-friendly across devices (mobile view is number 1!)
- updated design elements to make them more engaging and visually appealing

Goal: Create a new website to make it easy for potential clients to enquire
While Sarah Little has a long-established reputation as a leading acoustic musician in Townsville, she had spent little time actively growing her business. She wanted a website to reflect her professional identity, and which made it easy for potential clients to find and enquire with her. By incorporating simple user-friendly elements (such as linking Sarah's Google Calendar for live availability), we think Sarah's new website will fit the bill!
Sarah enlisted the expertise of Black Owl Design for her new branding, along with the copywriting skills of Red Copy for her website. We're always pleased to collaborate with other North Queensland businesses, they both did an amazing job!
Client: Josephine Carter Photography
Year: 2022
Goal: Modernise website while retaining a strong Google ranking
Josephine had an existing website, which was outdated both in content and style - but did rank very well in Google Search results.
Josephine wanted a clean aesthetic, a range of photo galleries, links to her external shops, and easy call-to-action points across the site. We were able to tick these boxes and can happily report that the website is currently still ranked second in Google Search results for 'Townsville photographer'.
Josephine had enlisted the copywriting skills of Red Copy for her website. They did a great job and we were pleased to collaborate on this project.
Client: Wasted Paint
Year: 2022
Goal: Create a website linked to an easy online booking system
Wasted Paint is a popular paint-and-sip destination in Townsville, however until recently they had a limited online presence and no easy booking system.
As part of our service, we helped investigate and integrate an online booking system (they went with Calendly for private function bookings).
The client wanted a colourful web design, keeping with the studio's vibe. Along with some carefully selected design elements, we made sure to showcase their fun Insta feed. We think it turned out great!
