Client: Townsville Catholic Education

Year: 2023

Goal: Upskill staff (across 29 schools) in social media marketing

Townsville Catholic Education (TCE) supports 29 schools across North Queensland. The TCE marketing team had identified a need to:

  • improve consistency across all schools with the approach to social media and branding, and
  • educate about social media best practices.

To achieve this, we were engaged to develop a tailored 'Social Media Marketing Basics' workshop. As the name suggests, it covered the 'basics' of social media marketing (including content planning, content creation, organic growth strategies and more). Over 2.5 hours, the presentation was delivered via face-to-face and Zoom sessions with group brainstorming activities, practical tips and examples, take-home workbooks and shared resources.

Post-workshop feedback was very positive!

  • 86% rated the workshop as 'Excellent'
  • 100% found the workshop 'Useful' or 'Very Useful' in improving their knowledge about social media marketing and branding.

Here's some direct feedback about what attendees found most useful:

  • It gave me a few things to consider regarding what we currently do and how we can improve them to make it more friendly and also how to reach a greater audience. I thought the workshop was fantastic and I really enjoyed it.
  • Tips and tricks to make our posts more engaging, how to generate organic growth of our social media pages without spending $$.
  • Balanced approach, calendar overview, use of emojis, data about usage of social media
  • Inspiration for ideas we can use to refresh our social media content and make it better and appealing to a greater audience.

Since the workshops have wrapped up, the TCE marketing team have reported a marked improvement in consistency and quality of social media content. Congrats to all the workshop attendees, who have done a great job in putting the workshop learnings into action!

"We engaged Move Marketing to deliver a customised 'Social Media Marketing Basics' training course for our Townsville Catholic Education staff across the Diocese. This involved face to face delivery for those located in Townsville and within driving distance, and online zoom sessions for those in rural and remote locations. Feedback has been incredibly positive thus far, and we have noticed a significant increase in content creation and engagement across various school social media platforms."

Client: Sahara Trailers

Year: 2022

Goal: Maximise event attendance (Grand Opening of their new showroom)

Sahara Trailers wanted someone to coordinate their marketing efforts for the Grand Opening of their new showroom. Sahara wanted someone to work on-site alongside their admin & management team several hours a week in the lead up to the event. Our consulting service was a perfect solution.

Initially an audit and update of the existing platforms was undertaken, including:

  • Audit of social media assets (sorting access issues, creating & connecting Facebook Pixel etc).
  • Walk-through of Facebook Ads Manager (including creation of custom and lookalike audiences for targeting).
  • Updating the email marketing database.
  • Audit of Google Ads account, plus setting up 'conversions' to accurately legitimate leads.

After the loose ends were tidied up, we worked with the Sahara Trailers team to create and implement a one-month event marketing plan for their Grand Opening. It included:

  • Social media 'organic' (unpaid) activity - new Facebook cover, creation of Facebook Event, a series of posts / Stories, joining and sharing content to relevant Facebook Groups.
  • Social media paid advertising - multiple campaigns to firstly build awareness using videos ads, then re-target those video viewers (and other targeted audiences) to encourage engagement with the event. Over a 2.5 week period, the ads had reached 90,003 people. 178 pre-registered their interest via the Facebook Event.
  • Website updates with event info.
  • Email marketing to Sahara's existing customer base (the first email had an amazing open rate of 44%, which far exceeds the Australian average of 21%).
  • Design of an A5 printed flyer for walk-in customers.
  • A giveaway on the day (with opt in for email marketing) - this added 193 contacts to the database.

A little snapshot of the day...

“I'm pleased to say that the Grand Opening was a roaring success! Not only did at least 500 people attend, but it also generated bumper sales. We now continue to work with Sahara Trailers on an ongoing basis".
